Why
I am offended?
Roy
Markara
roymarkara@yahoo.com
Jesus
said; "It is impossible that no offenses should
come, but woe to him through whom they do come!"
(Luke 17:1-4).
God
has never promised that we will never go through
hardship but to be with us when we pass through
hardships. The Bible says: "When you pass through
the waters, I shall be with you; when you pass through
the rivers, they shall not overflow you; when you pass
through the fire, you shall not be burnt nor shall the
flame scorch". These are the three various levels
of trials which we have to go through in our personal
encounters in different facets. The first one is the
minimum level of trials without much beneath flow but
the second one is worse than the first but the third one
is the worst experience.. however The Lord says, that He
will take care of us in whatever the situation we are in
even in the worst scenarios. .
Jesus
here warns us that we are not spared from being
offended. In other version it says; ‘it is impossible
that the stumbling occasions should not come’ (ASV).
In all these above passages we visualize that we will
have to encounter with unfavorable situations such as
criticism, challenges, allegations, adversities and
false accusations etc. But Jesus said, rejoice
when you are falsely accused for My sake; for greater is
your reward in heaven! (Mathew 5:11).
Offense
can be dangerous and can cause life long stigmas if we
are careless and without much discerning. It can break
up relationships and friendships and can even divide
congregations. It may break the families apart if we do
not handle them carefully. God wants us to be wise in
all manner of conversations while interacting with
people who are with different nature of temperaments,
attitude and character.
Although
we are the victims of offense in the past, yet many of
us are not aware of defending ourselves from being
offended. The Bible warns us to take enough precautions
as the chances are higher for a child of God to be
offended. Offense is considered to be an aggressive
strategy by the devil to keep the child of God
distracted from God rather than walking closer with Him.
The
closer the relationships are, the deeper can be the
wounds once offended. According to the Bible, offense is
related as the hidden dangers or a hook of a fishing boy
where in with the dangerous part of the hook is covered
by the prey that attracts the fishes. Every child of God
must carefully discern the very purpose behind the
offense and the after effect of the same. The offense
can cultivate unforgiveness and bitterness in our hearts
which would ultimately destroy our personal relationship
with our God the Father. (Mathew 6:14,15). If we are not
right with men, we can not be right with God. Although
many of us pretend to defend ourselves as though we are
right with God, we find it hard to face the people who
had offended or insulted us in the past.
Beloved,
God is impartial and can not hate you because some one
hates you. The enemy knows the divine Character of God
although many times we fail to comprehend the knowledge
of Satan about God’s Divine Character. The devil knows
that if there is hatredness among the believers, God can
not be pleased among them and He can not answer their
prayers. The root cause of the divisions among the body
of Christ and among the family members are due to the
lack of our understanding the craftiness and the schemes
of the enemy.
Offense
is a well planned input by the devil which he uses to
break up close relationships. Breaking closest relationships
are always painful as a result it causes resents,
grudges and bitterness and even dark spots in our hearts
for years. (Psalms 55:12-14)It also would remain as a
parasite in destroying our own spiritual life causing
dryness and spiritual bankruptcy even with physical
infirmities.
Offense
can originate through the act of breach of trust or a
word of insult or even a word which is spoken with
different meaning or a different sense. It is hard to
contain or tolerate when there is such an incident from
the people whom we never expect to act so. Our words can
harm a person and it also can heal a person. It may not
take much time to harm a person but healing is a long
time process as restoration is a must, which requires a
longer period to work through.
In
the passage given above, Jesus warns us that we have no
exception from being offended but our attitude would
determine the consequence. Jesus was offended several
times by His own people. He was betrayed by His own
friend. He was blasphemed by the Pharisees and they
called Him "Samaritan"(John.8:48)! However, He
was never stumbled by any of their schemes! He knew His
betrayer earlier. However, He had never disclosed about
His betrayer (Judas) to the other disciples! Oh! What a
Divine Love! He also gives us the remedy to overcome the
offense which is through forgiveness. He said, if your
brother sins against you, rebuke him. If He repents,
forgive him. This passage does not mean that we ought to
forgive our brother only if when he repents.
The
invisible attribute of God’s Forgiveness is the
Forbearance and these both are interrelated. Forbearance
is the determination to release Forgiveness in which we
need to maintain the attitude as though our brother is
not wrong. In Forbearance, we are the giver and in Forgiveness, our
brother is the receiver. When Jesus died on the cross,
He fulfilled the requirement for the forgiveness of the
whole mankind in which God maintains forbearance till
the sinners turn to God through Christ. However, it
becomes forgiveness in our life only when we accept our
failures and believe on what Jesus did on the cross. In
other word, forgiveness is an experience when we accept
the death and the resurrection of Jesus!
We
will not be able to accept others unless we discover and
accept our own failures and short coming within
ourselves. When we accept ourselves, it becomes easy for
us to accept others as well. Like wise, God wants us to
forgive one another as though it never happened or as
though they had done no wrong in the past.(Rom.3:24-26).
When we release forgiveness and God too would release
forgiveness in which we are also forgiven.(Mat:6:12). My
dear sisters and brothers, what is our attitude today
against those who speak against us and who fabricate
stories which are untrue? Jesus said, Father forgive
them for they do not know what they do! Let us look unto
Jesus for His Grace and Mercy.(Hebrew;12:2)

The
Bible says in the book of Mathew 4:12 Now when
Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he
departed into Galilee; I am sure many of us are going
through the similar scenarios while reading this
passage. It is very much vivid from the scripture that
John the Baptist was ordained by God while he was
still in his mother's womb. God never ordains some one
for no reason. There are human ordination and divine
ordination. Human ordination is valid only when it
meets the approval and the demand of the Divine
ordination.
The
above passage says, while John was cast into prison,
Jesus departed into Galilee. Was not John chosen by
God to accomplish the Will of God on this earth? The
bible clearly says, He was the voice of God and sent
to prepare the way for his Master thus revealing
Christ to the public. Why did
Jesus go away when He heard about the
imprisonment of John?
Mathew
11:2-6 says, Now when John had heard in the prison the
works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples, And
said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we
look for another? Jesus answered and said unto them,
Go and show John again those things which ye do hear
and see: The blind receive their sight, and the lame
walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the
dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel
preached to them. And blessed is he, whosoever shall
not be offended in me.
God
has never promised to keep us away from hardships but
to be with us when we pass through hardships. John
knew the scripture and was aware that The Messiah is
the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
He also knew that Jesus (Isaiah 61: 1)
that Christ will set the captives free. However, John
became doubtful about Christ, when He himself went
through the same what he believed but not seeing
the promise fulfilled in his life. Beloved, we too
become confused when we don't see the miracles in what
we preach about. Most of our prayers were answered by
God at the early part of our faith life. However, we
don't see many miracles as we grow spiritually closer
with God. This does not mean that God never does
miracles today but He delays in order to teach us
His ways that we are not yet seen! When we pray
for others, they are healed. But when we fall into
sickness, we are not healed! Why does that happen to
us? The bible says, Job 30:25, 26 did not I weep for
him that was in trouble? Was not my soul grieved for
the poor? When I looked for good, then evil came unto
me: and when I waited for light, there came darkness.
Why does such thing happen to us? This is what
happened to John while he was cast into into
prison.
My
dear sisters and brothers, The Lord always trains
and equips us through our adversities. The Bible says,
Psalms 144:1; blessed be the LORD my strength who
teaches my hands to war, and my fingers to fight: The
scripture reveals that there are many reasons
why people do suffer and this is one of the reasons.
Yet, He is the same unchanging Jesus yesterday, today
and forever.
We
do understand from Mathew 11:1-6 that John had an
expected Jesus to set him free from the prison. While
his expectation did not happen, he began doubting if
he whom John baptized was Christ? While he sent
the message to Jesus that if He is Christ or shall we
wait for another, Jesus replied, directly to what he
thought of Jesus from the Scripture and thus warning
him that blessed is he, whosoever shall not be
offended in me. God's great concern is not how we
began our life or what we did in our past life but how
we conclude our life. God does not want us
to run the race longer or shorter than He
has designed thus saying, I fought a good fight for the Lord this much of years. Let
it be for a single message or let it be a day but let
us be there where God has placed us. Many of us are
running the race probably more or better than others.
Remember, we are important to God more than our
doings! But the question is about the track where God
has placed us! Beloved, it is easy to light a lamp but
to keep the light from being put out is expensive.
God
does not want us to conquer the world in a way that
will forfeit out eternity. He does not want to take up
the challenges if God is not in it. God
does not want us to start some thing if that
would finally end up with our
loss. There is nothing in the world that can
compensate to our Privileges in heaven. We can not
reach Heaven even if we win millions of souls except
we remain focused on our target. For example, If
one of us become lost of our child, the millions
of children of this world will never become
a substitution to our child and there is no alternate
to our dearest ones. In the same manner, the bible
says, we are the dear children of our Lord and if we
become lost, there is no replacement for us in heaven
rather, we will be eternally missing. The heaven
will never be happy even if there are millions
instead of you and me. The heaven will eternally
miss you and me if we don't run the race on
God's divine prompt. This is the reason why Jesus
warns us that we shall not build up the house on
the sandy land but upon the Rock. The branch we hold
on will be shaken but the Rock we stand upon will
never be shaken. For this is the Rock of ages!!
John the Baptist was sent to baptize Christ and
he did so. He did introduce Christ to many who were
around him. He left his traditional inheritance of
being the son of a high priest. He left all his
privileges of being brought up in the temple with his
father Zachariah. God knew the sacrificial life of
John while he was in the wilderness thus living a life
in which he abstained from all unlawful practices
so that he would be a sacred vessel like virgin
Mary so that he would baptize Christ in due
course of the appointed time. God does not want us to
fall from the Grace for the sake of this worldly
applause nor pleasures of this world. He wants us to
be sustained in the faith till last moment so
that we would glorify Christ even through our death.
The bible says, Psalms 116:15; Precious in the sight
of the LORD is the death of his saints
Beloved, Are you doubtful about your calling? are
you at wavering as there is no answer
for your prayers? Remember, if God remains silent,
God has allowed it to happen in your life. However,
He will look after your life when things may
seemingly go wrong while you walk within the plan of
God. He has a prime purpose concerning you and me.
Although, John had preached the repentance, yet the prime
calling about him was to introduce Christ
to the public and to baptize Him at the river of
Jordan. It does not matter whatever we do for
the Lord before or after that period, God does not
want us to miss that Prime
calling. Oh! it is glorious! Let us look
upon Christ and His submission to the complete
will of His Father. He was tempted by the
enemy not to hold Him back from healing the sick or
from casting out the demons or from opening
the blind eyes. But was tempted to prevent
Him from laying down His Life on the
cruel cross for the redemption of the human kind.
Yes, The Bible says; He humbled Himself to
the point of death even until the death on the
Cross! (Philippians 2:8).The Prime and the crucial
part of the Ministry of Christ was to be a
sacrifice for us by laying down His life on the
Cross. Satan never objected Christ in all that He
had done except the crucifixion. Fer he knew, If
Jesus dies, He will rise again. Dear brothers and
sisters, when you are tempted, persecuted, objected,
oppressed, the enemy knows you are fulfilling the
Will of Your Father and in which he is going to
loose but we are going to win.
Let us therefore not miss this target!! Let us look
unto Jesus; The Bible says Hebrew 5:5-9;Christ, in
the days of his flesh, when he had offered up
prayers and supplications with strong crying and
tears unto him that was able to save him from death,
and was heard in that he feared; Though he were a
Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he
suffered.

The
Unrevealed Plans of God
Roy
Markara
The
Bible says in the book of Hebrews 11:7; "By faith
Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet,
moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his
house; by which he condemned the world, and became heir
of the righteousness which is by faith".
When
God planned to destroy the whole human kind from the
face of the earth, He granted His favor upon Noah since
he was found righteous before the eyes of the Lord. The
Bible says; when Noah was warned by God of the things
that were not yet seen, He made an Ark for his
safety and his family. According to Genesis
6:11-16; God commanded Noah to make an ark by giving him
the complete revelation about the same and how it had to
be made. This implies that Noah may not have seen an ark
until that day and that must be the reason why God gave
him the complete details about the ark and its design.
We
must carefully observe the plans of God concerning His
children. The whole scriptures reveal the uniqueness of
God’s plans, His election and His miracles.
God
never repeats the method of doing things that He had
done before. If Noah had a little knowledge about the
ark prior to the revelation from God, He would have
tried to drag it down to the waters for a "test
drive" to see if it will balance upon the
water. This is why God never allows us to see
what is He going to accomplish through
us ahead of its time. When man tries to discover
something new, he always has the tendency of test drive
in his mind.
"Test
drive" is an important fact in the human methods as
he wants to trust his products for the reliability
and trustworthiness. This is the weakness of men in
comparing to the matchless knowledge of God!
The medicines that are newly discovered are
tested in animals. The weapons for battles are test
fired before their induction into the army. The ships,
and the jets and all kinds of carriers and every
product of men do undergo test drive or trials.
When God wants us to do things as per His prompt, He
does not require a test-trial from us rather He wants us
to implement His Will and Purpose as it is! The Bible
says; Mark 11:2, when Jesus asked two of His
disciples to bring a colt; He specified that "the
colt upon which no man had ever sat". This
wonderful plan of God exhibits, that God does
not require human training for what He has chosen!
When Jesus turned the water into wine (John 2:6-9), He
had never asked the servants to take a little wine for
a sample taste. His works are Perfect
and Accurate. He alone is excellent in counsel and
mighty in deed. The Bible says: Romans 11:33-35; O
the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge
of God! How unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways
past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the
Lord? Who hath been his counselor? Who hath first given
to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
Since
the fall of Adam, Christ was the first person who
walked upon this earth exercising the full power
and authority that were given
to Adam.(Gen;1:26-28). Jesus had the dominion
over the fish and the sea. Jesus gave a great catch of
fish when it was impossible for Peter to
catch.(Luk.5:1-11). Jesus proved His Power by bringing
the first fish to Peter’s hook while the Apostle had
to pay his Tax.(Mathew 17:24-27). Christ proved His
authority over fowls and birds while He kept every birds
in Jerusalem quit until the cock that was supposed
to crow to remind Peter’s denial of Christ.(Luke
22:60-61). Jesus proved His dominion as He rod into
Jerusalem upon an untrained donkey. (Mark11:2.)
Beloved,
are you experiencing uncertainty in your life? Remember,
God always has new plans for us which are
untold and unrevealed. His ways can not be comprehended
by human understanding. There is a reason why He
always keeps us away from reaching His divine
plans before its ordained time. God
does not want our little human knowledge to
incorporate with His divine master plans. He knows our
nature and remembers that we are weak vessels. But He
always provides the best for us every day. The bible
says: Hebrews 12:2,3: Looking unto Jesus the author and
finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set
before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and
is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For
consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners
against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your
minds.

Thy
Will Be Done
-Roy
Markara
All of
us are anxious to know the Will of God
about each one of us. Many of us try to do many
things in the name of God and for His glory,
contemplating as though "it is the Will of
God". However, most of our doings end up with
failures or disasters. What are the root
causes of such failures? Some of us fail to
comprehend the ways of God at this area. Let us
examine what the Bible talks about the Will of God.
Jesus taught
His disciples to pray; (Mathew 6: verse
10.) "Thy Will be done on earth as it is in
Heaven". When Jesus taught on this prayer, He
knew about The Will of The Father concerning Himself
that was planned in Heaven.. Jesus Knew His Ministry
ahead of Him and always wanted to make sure
that He walked within the plan of His Father. This is
what the importance of pleasing God. In this regard, we
will not be able to please men but God alone. People who
are fully submissive to the voice of God and His
Will always face difficult times to adjust to
the human standard. There were number
of occasions where Jesus was tempted by Satan to
win the world without sufferings. But the bible
says, He did overcome the strategies of the
enemy as He discerned the voice and the
hands of Lucifer behind the temptations. Jesus
discerned the voice of the enemy even through Peter when
he rebuked Jesus that he should not suffer. There were
times when the chief priest sent the soldiers to lay
their hands of him. Yet they could not touch Him
as His time was not yet come to suffer but
He slipped away from their hands. It was
impossible for them to lay their hands on Him before the
assigned time by His Father in Heaven! Once
Jesus knew the people around him were planning to
elect him as a King over Israel. However, He denied to
be the King, for He knew the Will and Purpose of His
Father that he must suffer and die for the sins of this
world on the appointed time. He also knew that
He will be nailed on the cross and will be
resurrected from the death on the third day. He never
sought to avoid what the Father had purposed
in His Life.
Let
us go to the garden of Gethsemane, and meditate upon the
crucial moments that Jesus spent over there! It was
indeed the painful battle between the death and the
life. Yet He wanted to accomplish the Will of His Father
at any cost, He cried out "Father if possible, take
away this cup from me. But, not my will, let your will
be done" .The Bible says; an angel was sent to
strengthen Him so that he could endure the
excruciating moments! Beloved, when we encounter
with situations that are seemingly impossible for us to
cross through, The Lord will charge His angels over us
to withstand such situations!
The
death of Christ was planned in Heaven in the ageless
past eternity within the Godhead Body even before the
foundation of this world (Rev:13:8). Jesus came to
accomplish the purpose of His Father that was designed
in Heaven. Yes, He was nailed on the cruel cross to die
a miserable death for you and me. Even on the
cross, He shouted victoriously; Father, Into Thy hands I
commit my Spirit. His lifeless body was buried in a
Tomb. But on the third day, He rose up from the death
and lives forever. He knew all that were going to happen
to Him ahead of the time. It was impossible for the
corruption to touch His body.
Beloved,
It does not matter what happens in your life while
walking on the track where God has placed you. He will
take care of all that happens in your life. This is what
walking in the Will of God.
Although
we are all eager to listen to the voice of God.. many
times, we don’t hear him speaking to us. The reason we
don’t hear Him is not that He cannot speak to us. He
is the unchanging God who never changes as the
world changes. God speaks today!! The only reason
why we do not hear Him is only because we are not
prepared to go reverse to our schedules and
our determinations when He asks us to go.
When we are prepared, we will start hearing him
clearly speaking to us. God speaks to us through many
ways.. but ultimately through His Word..
God
wants us to be in a place where He can speak to us and
thus we can hear Him speaking to us. When Jesus taught
the prayer " Thy will be done on earth as it is in
heaven", He manifested the secret of God’s Will that God
has already drafted about concerning all of us. The
Bible says: Genesis 6:1-22.. When God commanded Noah to
build up an ark for the safety of both Noah and
family.. He revealed Noah about the size and the
structure of the Ark. When Noah accomplished the work of
ark according to the voice of God, God took control
over all situation for such a long period without
failures even while it floated on the water
for many days. None of the living being lacked anything
neither did any of them die in the Ark .The reason that
sustained the Ark without any failures on the waters
was because of the obedience to the voice of God.
In other word, The Blue Print of Ark was already
designed in heaven before it took shape. When God
revealed the outline to Noah, He accomplished
it without alteration and dilution to the
direction given by God. This was the secret behind the
protection of Noah and His family.
Again
The Bible says Hebrew 9:23..it says,
Moses accomplished the work of
the Tabernacle which were the copies
of the things in Heaven!!! God showed him the pattern of
the Heavenly Tabernacle (Exodus 25:40 and exodus
26:30),He accomplished the same accordingly in the
wilderness. (Exodus 40: 33 and 34) Then the glory,
The Shekeniah and the cloud came and dwelt upon the
Tabernacle. The Glory and The Cloud that remained
above the Tabernacle controlled the movements of the
people in the wilderness. Oh.. What a glorious
experience it is when we are led by the presence of
God!!! It does not matter who you are.. but
it does matter where you are. The Bible says, God was
with Joseph, while he was thrown in to the pit, while he
was in slavery, in the prison and even in the palace.
The Lord is an unchanging God!! (Malachi 3:6)
Beloved, had
our life been built up according to the designated
plan of God, our destiny would have been different
from what we are today..!! He has already divinely
planned the whole structure concerning our life
upon this world. Are you anxious about your tomorrows?
Is there some care about your needs that worrying
you? Do you ask, how can these mountains go
away from me? Can I come out of my financial
crisis? Can I see a bright future? Yes my
beloved, He can change your tomorrows into
different from yesterdays! The Bible says; He is able to
change the times and seasons (Daniel 2:21). He does not
shift like the shifting of the shadows (James:1:17).And
again it says, "yeah though I walk
through death’s dark valley, yet I shall fear no evil,
for Thou are with me" . Remember, While adjusting
your life to voice of God in order to
walk on The Divine Will and Purpose,
He will take control over your needs, sickness and
even on the time of our death...(Psalms116:15 and
68:20) and He will be responsible for your
life.. And nothing shall exceed beyond your
limits of tolerance.
The
Lord has planned the outline (Shadows) of your life in
heaven. Which we need to bring down in reality
(substance) upon this earth while listening to His voice
through His Word in our day today life.

God’s Touch on our
feelings
By Roy Markara
Email: roymarkara@yahoo.com
The
bible says, Hebrew 4:15; For we do not have a high
priest who cannot sympathize with our weakness but was
in all points tempted as we are yet without sin. This is
the most comforting passage in the bible and this is
where we see the uniqueness of the character of God.
Many misinterpret this verse without understanding the
attributes of God here. Jesus did not come into this
world to taste the pleasures of life but to taste the
bitterness of death (Hebrew 2:9) on behalf of everyone
of us.
The
above passage says, Jesus is the great high priest who
advocates for us in heaven and it also reveals about how
Christ is sympathized with our weakness. In other
version(ASV) it says, we do not have a high priest who
cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities.
Every child of God must carefully look unto the Lord for
His Grace and Mercy at the time of needs. Sympathy is
derived from the word ‘compassion’ which is the
divine character of God. Although we are familiar with
this passage but many of us are not familiar with this
divine character of God.
There
is none without sin but there are no sins which God
cannot forgive. The Bible reveals the Character of God
and also it reveals the character of man and it says
that all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory.
But in Christ Jesus we are restored of all that were
lost in Adam.
The
word sympathy means being touched by other’s feelings.
The Bible says(Mathew 8:17), Jesus took our infirmities
and borne our sorrows and disease. Jesus did not touch
anyone without sympathy. The bible says, when He saw the
multitude, he had compassion on them. When He saw the
lepers, He was moved with compassion on them. When he
saw the sinful women, he told them, your sins have
forgiven! In all the ministry of Jesus, we see, Jesus
had moved with sympathy and compassion. Even when He
forgave the sinners, he did not condemn them for their
sin instead He said, son, daughter, your sins are
forgiven and go in peace. What a great healer is our
Lord and how great is His grace and sympathy.
My
beloved, although we are familiar in reading or
preaching the word, many of us do not move with the
character of God. The book of 1 Samuel 1 :12-16 talks
about a woman who came to the temple of God .This woman
did not express anything oral but made a quite prayer!
When she prayed to God from her heart about her
unspeakable request, only her lips moved but her voice
was not heard. The high priest Eli mistook this lady
Hanna doubting as though she was drunk. But God knowing
the heartbeats of this woman answered her prayer and she
was blessed with a son called Samuel. Are not there
times when we misjudged others not knowing reality of
what they were going through? Remember my beloved God
knows the feelings of our hearts and He understands us
beyond others even more than our earthly parents. The
Leaders and the elders of our church might understand
our feeling to some extents when we express or confess
our problem but the bible reveals that Jesus Christ is
the High Priest who is touched with the feelings of our
infirmities.
When
no one tries understand us, while others who are
supposed to stand by our side do not understand our
feelings , God is moved and touched by our feelings of
our heartbeats. He knows the meaning of our tears and His
love shall perform miracles for us.You may not be able
to express your request in public nor could you pray
with your personal problems in e congregation. But He
knows our feeling and therefore, the bible says;
(Heb.4:16) let us boldly approach towards the throne of
grace with confidence so that we may receive grace in
due course of time. The beautiful stanza of a song says:
"Jesus
knows our every weakness; Take it to the Lord in
prayer"
God
knows the pains of a childless and barren couple. He
knows the pains of those who are widows and He knows the
heartbeats and the pains of the Fatherless. The bible
says(Psalms 68:5,146:9); He is the father to the
fatherless and upholds the widows and fatherless. He
knows the pain of a person who an outcast from his home
or from the community. He knows how painful it is when we
are looked down by others. He understands our pain when
we pass through the hardest times in our lives even if
it is due to our failures and weakness.
The
Bible says (Mathew 8:1-4) when a leper came to Jesus
imploring to be healed, Jesus healed him by touching the
leper. Jesus was willing to touch the outcast of the
community who was excommunicated from the public due to
his disease. Jesus had not only touched this man with
His hand but also touched on his feeling with His
compassion. Touching a leper was a sacrilegious act in
the days of Jesus. Even today the same attitude remains
in the mind of people although such law does not exist!
He knew how hard it is for a person who is forbidden and
limited from walking in the public. When Jesus healed
the leper, he was healed not only from his leprosy but
also from his loneliness and separation from the public.
He was restored in every manner. Are we ready to touch
whom Jesus touched and ready to accept whom Jesus
accepted? The miracles take place and the people are
saved only when we manifest the same attitude that was
in Christ.(Phili 2:5)
Beloved
When God starts touching our lives, it not only brings
healing upon our body and mind but it also restores us
in every manner. When God shows mercy and sympathy, it
brings the affection by His touch upon our hearts and
mind. The words of a man can hardly comfort us but the
love and the peace of God reach our hearts beyond the
boundaries. Jesus went through the similar situations
such as the pains of separation by His own people. He
was cast out by His own brothers and was betrayed by His
friend. When He was in Gethsemane, no one understood
what was going to happen to Him after few moments. He
was put down in every manner and was falsely accused
before the public. On that old rugged cross he was left
all alone between among two thieves. But He rose up from
the dead on the third day and is seated over the Throne
of Grace. Let us therefore be assured that, He knows our
feelings and He understands how much you can tolerate. He
will never let anything beyond our tolerance and He is
our anchor who sustains us amidst of all challenges and
tempests. He is in control over our entire situation.

Beyond
Our Knowledge

The
Bible says, Gospel according to John 13:7; What I am
doing you do not understand now, but you will know after
this. This Jesus spoke while washing the feet of Peter,
in response to his asking, Lord, are you washing my
feet?
We
all go through similar scenarios which we do not
understand what the Lord is doing in our life or why He
is allowing things which are contrary to our expectancy.
The disciples did not understand many of the teachings
of Christ until they received the Baptism of the Holy
Spirit.
When
God chose Saul as the first King of Israel (1Samuel
10:1), He led him out of his father’s house through
the ways beyond his understanding. The Bible says; when
his Father Kish lost the donkeys, he sent his son Saul
along with a servant in search of the whereabouts of the
missing donkeys. He kept on wandering for the lost
donkeys for three days. (1Sam 9:5) When they came near
the town called Zuph, Saul almost gave up his plan from
continuing their journey, as their efforts became
failure.
Saul
was unable to comprehend what was ahead of him. He
decided to give up searching for the lost but to return
to his father, as he presumed his father is worried more
about the missing son than the missing donkeys. He never
knew as each day he passed, he was coming closer to his
divine call! Finally, on the third day, he came to the
city where God had designated for him to have the
encounter with the Prophet Samuel. However, he some how
wanted to give up as he experienced discomfort which
prompted him to return to his father as he was not aware
about what was awaiting ahead of him.
Beloved,
many times we too feel being fed up and frustrated when
there is no answer for our prayers. When all our efforts
become failure, we might even think that our patience is
being tested we are pushed to the borderline where we
don’t see the sign of hope. Remember, God may allow us
being fed up for a while to hold us back from going
further so that He could turn you to the right
destination. The Bible says, whenever you turn to the
right hand or turn to the left hand, your ears shall
hear a word from behind you saying, this is the way walk
in it(Isaiah 30:21). We may not know how close we are to
the Divine plan of God and therefore He puts us on hold
from moving further. However, we feel always comfortable
as long as we are in the plan of God despite being
longer and hectic our journey is. But feel always empty
and guilty when we take one step further contrary to the
plan of God. In such scenarios, The Lord is not asking
us to return all the way back to our origin but to where
we lost our comfort and peace with The Lord. In other
word, let us return to from where became off tracked.
The
Lord allowed Saul to experience the discomfort not
because as he went further in search of the lost Asses
or he went far away from his own father. Of course he
came out of his home in search of the missing animals.
There was a divine purpose that he was brought out for!
And God never wanted to disclose to him about the
purpose prior to its fulfillment. Although Saul was sent
to restore or reclaim what they lost, he did not return
home as he went but returned as the King of Israel. Now,
Soul would not have been even worried, had not found the
lost Asses! He would have been worried had he not
listened to his servant. Beloved, God wants us to have
an ear of listening and the heart of understanding. For
God speaks to us through different ways. Many of us keep
struggling to reclaim what we lost in the past but may
know not why it happens to us. We might even think,
where is God when I lost my belonging? Yes, He may allow
the crisis in various aspects to bring us out from our
comfortable Zone to reveal His Divine plans to beyond
what we could describe. My dear brothers and sisters, He
knows our tomorrows. The Bible says; Let not your hearts
be troubled but rejoice in the Lord always and give
thanks in all circumstances. Remember, Jesus who rose up
from the death is seated over the throne of Grace.
(Hebrew 4:16). As long as Christ is seated over the
Throne of Grace, He shall turn all our problems into all
right.

Who
will roll away the stone for us?
Roy
Markara
<roymarkara@yahoo.com>
On
the first day of the week Mary, the mother of Jesus and
the others went to the tomb of Christ seeking His body.
The Bible says according to the book of Mark 16:1-4 and
Luke 24:1-4, these women were concerned about how to get
into the tomb as they knew there was a huge stone laid
at the mouth of the tomb where His body was laid.
Although, they had love and sympathy towards Christ, yet
they were greatly perplexed, as they did not find the
body of Jesus. The Bible says, God sent two angels to
the women who were searching the body of Christ at the
tomb and asking them, why do you seek the living among
the dead? He is not here, but He is risen!
Jesus
had never delegated anyone to go to the tomb and confirm
His resurrection on the third day i.e., on the first day
of the week. What had then caused these women (including
the mother of Jesus) to go the tomb early on the first
day of the week? Remember, God never leads us into the
wrong place nor does He move without a divine purpose or
Plan. The voice of angels were not their own but from
God! The angel of God is never allowed to speak from his
own but to carry out the message from God whom he
worships in Heaven. It is clearly seen from the
scripture that these women were not prompted by the Holy
Spirit but were led by their tradition. The Leading of
the Holy spirit and the leading of the tradition are
entirely different. The power of the tradition is
strictly based on the footprints of the ancestors or
forefathers but the power of The Holy spirit is strictly
based on the Promises of God. Jesus said, when the Holy
spirit has come, He will not speak on His own authority
but He will take of what is mine and declare it to you
(John 16: 13,14).
The
Traditions are the methodologies of following the
footprints of the ancestors in which once we chose to
sit where the ancestors sat. And we chose to eat what
they ate. We chose to pray where they stood and prayed
and whom did they prayed to. We preferred to drink what
they drunk and always chose to bow down to where they
bowed down and whom they worshipped. The Bible says,
Ephesians 2:2; we once walked according to the patterns
of this world. These practices of following the
footprints of the ancestors will end up in their tomb.
But remember, The Holy Spirit will never take us to the
dead nor to the tomb but to the Resurrected Christ! This
is what the difference between following the footprints
of the ancestors and the Guidance by the Holy Spirit!
The foundation of Christianity is not based upon the
Empty tomb but upon the risen Saviour! It was His
Resurrection that caused the empty tomb but not the
empty tomb that caused His resurrection! For it was
impossible for the death to hold Him (Acts 2: 27). The
scripture reveals that when you walk under the shadow of
This Almighty, no matter if thousand fall on your side
and when ten thousands fall on your right hand, The Lord
shall uphold you.For He has inscribed you in His palms
Isaiah 49:16.
The
only power that is able to set us free from the power of
tradition is the power of the blood of the Lamb.1Peter
1: 18 and 19. Although The mother of Jesus and Mary
Magdalene and Salome had their affection and sympathy
towards Jesus and His suffering, they were led to the
wrong place in search of the right person. Because
Christ was already risen from the dead at that time! Had
they gone to see the risen Saviour, they would not have
carried the spices to anoint the body of Jesus or had
they believed the words of Christ, they would not have
gone to the tomb in search of the body of Jesus. It was
the Jewish tradition or custom that led them to the
Tomb. It is sad to see that the tradition still prevails
upon the Christians and even upon the born again
believers too. The Bible says in the book John 8: 31-36
in those Jews who believed on Jesus were under the
bondage of tradition. Jesus warns us that it is not the
background of a person makes him eligible to the Kingdom
of God but our faith in the death and the resurrection
of the Son of Most High!
My
Dear Brothers and sisters, are you bound to the
tradition today even after being born again? Are there
any areas in your life still dominated by the power of
tradition? Remember, traditions are the strategies,
which the enemy has wisely planted into your life with
his subtlety, which are seemed to be spiritual but
tragic. When the Israelites were led out of Egypt into
the land of Canaan, God had an easiest way for them to
reach the Promised Land, which was the incoming root of
their ancestors from Canaan into Egypt . God always
takes us through the ways that are unknown to the human
understanding. They did never have to ask any one to
find their way to Canaan although they had not been
through that way before. The prime reason was, They were
led out of Egypt through the covenant and promise of
Passover. The Lord strictly commanded them to sprinkle
the blood of the lamb over the lintel and upon the two
doorposts. (Exodus 12:7) What you see out of the blood
mark from the lintel on the top and both the doorposts
by the side, is the sign of the cross which was the
symbol and the shadow of the cross of Christ! Yes, if
you are led out from the shadow of the cross, remember,
there is nothing can confuse you nor misguide you in
your life. There is no power that can conquer you while
He is on your side. Let us therefore cling on to the
promise of God and consider the old rugged cross upon
which Jesus took our shame and our reproach and upon
which He carried our sorrows and pains and all our
allegations and our infirmities and sickness and
disease! (Mathew 8:17).Thus He has liberated us from the
power of darkness and from the power of tradition and
brought us into the Kingdom of God through the power of
His Resurrection.

The
Bible says in the book of Mathew 4:12 Now when
Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he
departed into Galilee; I am sure many of us are going
through the similar scenarios while reading this

The bible
